News and other tidbits that Chad Cloman finds interesting enough to share
This guy was testing database software and decided to use the publicly-available .com domain name data as a testbed. He published some of the more interesting results. We can now confidently state, for example, that every single two- and three-letter .com domain is taken.
This must be the home page for Douglas Adams’ restaurant at the end of the universe.
This guy came up with the idea of selling “pixels” on a web page for $1 apiece. He guarantees the site will be up for at least five years, and hopefully forever. So far he’s sold more than 870,000 of the 1,000,000 available pixels (hence the site name). What a way to become a millionaire!
