To help quell any fears of radiation from Japan, the folks at xkcd have created a picture showing relative amounts of radiation exposure. The bottom line is that we in the United States have little to fear.

A very interesting chart. It’s amazing how little overall effect background radiation SHOULD have. People just hear “radiation” and freak without any understanding of the levels involved and how much actual exposure they’ll get. Very informative. Thanks for the post.
