Internet Explorer Security Update

Today Microsoft released an emergency out-of-cycle patch for Internet Explorer. The vulnerability exists in IE6 and above, but so far it’s only been seen in the wild for IE6.

so how does one determine which IE one is using, which link to use for an update?

Run Internet Explorer. Click the Help menu on the menu bar, then click “About Internet Explorer”. That should tell you the version number.
To update it, run Windows Update.
