Ever had one of those dialog boxes that was just too small, and it couldn’t be resized? Windows freeware utility ResizeEnable should take care of the problem. Note that the program is a hack and may not work in all cases.

Amazon has introduced a new e-book reader called the Kindle. It’s designed to feel more like an actual book and to be easy to use. We’ll see how popular it turns out to be, but a good sign is that they sold out in 5½ hours. The Kindle requires a wireless connection to the internet, but the $399 purchase price includes free lifetime connectivity.
UPDATE: Ars Technica has a review of the Kindle.

Lassie was famous for saving Timmy when he was in trouble. And there have been some real-life cases where a dog went to extreme lengths to help a human in danger. Along this line, researchers decided to put average dogs to the test: would the dogs get help when their owners were in trouble? The answer is a resounding “No.”
About 1800 Maxtor hard drives were found to have two trojan horses pre-installed. The manufacturer managed to recall most of the drives, but some are in the hands of customers.

I’ve just finished watching the seventh and final episode of the PBS documentary, The War. It was graphic, sobering, educational, and very, very eye-opening. I cannot express strongly enough, that I think everyone should see this documentary.
